Ruben de los Santos, M. D., is a graduate of Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon Medical School in Monterrey, Mexico, where he received both his B.S. and his M.D. His internship was done at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston as was his residency in internal medicine. Currently, he is in private practice in Eagle Pass.

Since 1985, Dr. de los Santos has been a staff scientist at the Cardiopulmonary Department of the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research and is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American Lung Assoc., the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Assoc., the Texas Thoracic Society and the Texas Medical Assoc. A much published physician, his writings have appeared in many medical journals and periodicals.

Dr. de los Santos and his wife have four children. In his spare time, he enjoys racquetball, traveling and spending time with his family.
